Needle-Free Facial Rejuvenation: What It Can and Can't Do
How needle-free facial rejuvenation works, what changes in ageing skin, where aesthetics ends and medicine begins, and how to care for your skin at home.

Needle-free facial rejuvenation means working on the quality of your skin — hydration, firmness, texture and tone — without injections, from the surface inwards. It won’t freeze a frown line or add volume, but it can help skin look rested, smoother and more even. Below, we explain what actually changes as skin ages, what an aesthetics centre can and can’t do, and how we approach it at Amarse.
What happens to skin as the years go by
Ageing skin isn’t one problem; it’s several small changes that add up. Understanding them makes it much easier to choose the right kind of care.
- Collagen and elastin. These are the proteins that give skin its structure and bounce. With age the body produces them more slowly, and the existing fibres become less organised. The result is skin that feels thinner and recovers its shape less quickly.
- Hydration. Skin’s ability to hold on to water declines, and the protective barrier becomes more fragile. Fine lines look more noticeable on dehydrated skin, which is why a well-hydrated face often looks younger than its owner expects.
- Tone and colour. Cell renewal slows down, so dead cells linger on the surface and the complexion looks duller. Years of sun exposure also show up as uneven patches and pigmentation.
- Texture. Pores can look larger and the surface rougher, partly because of slower renewal and partly because of reduced firmness around them.
External factors speed all of this up. In Mallorca, the obvious one is the sun: long, bright seasons and plenty of time outdoors are wonderful for wellbeing, but ultraviolet light is one of the main drivers of visible skin ageing. Wind, sea salt, smoking, poor sleep and stress play their part too.
Aesthetics or medical aesthetics? A useful distinction
When people search for facial rejuvenation they often find two very different worlds mixed together, so it’s worth separating them clearly.
Medical aesthetics includes injectable treatments such as botulinum toxin or dermal fillers. These are medical procedures and must be carried out by doctors. They work on muscle movement or volume, and if that’s what you’re after, a qualified medical professional is the right person to speak to.
Advanced aesthetics, which is what we do at Amarse, focuses on the skin itself: its hydration, firmness, luminosity and texture. We don’t inject anything and we don’t make medical claims. Neither approach is “better” — they simply do different things, and some people choose one, the other or both at different moments.
What a needle-free treatment can realistically offer:
- Skin that looks more hydrated and comfortable.
- A smoother, more refined texture.
- A brighter, more even complexion.
- A feeling of firmer, better-toned skin over a full course.
What it won’t do: change your facial structure, replace lost volume or stop expression lines from forming. Being honest about this from the start is the best way to be happy with the result.
How Esaforesi supports facial rejuvenation
Our main needle-free rejuvenation protocol is built around Esaforesi, a patented technology developed by Coherence, a San Marino company specialising in biophysical technologies for aesthetics. Its technical description is intracellular transport in bioresonance.
In practical terms, specific active formulations are applied to the skin and the technology helps them penetrate the tissue in a localised, controlled way. For the face we usually work with ESAFOR 2 face, a formulation designed for the face, sensitive skin and delicate areas.
What this means for you on the treatment bed:
- No needles and no pain — most people find it relaxing.
- No downtime: you can go straight back to your day.
- Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the protocol.
Amarse is the only centre in Palma offering Esaforesi. You can read more about the full protocol on our anti-ageing facial page.
Combining it with other treatments
Depending on your skin, Esaforesi can be combined with an acid peel to refine texture and tone, or with a revitalising facial when the main concern is dull, tired-looking skin. If radiance is your priority, our glow facial focuses specifically on luminosity. We decide on the combination together at the consultation.
What to expect, step by step
- Consultation. We talk about your goals, routine, previous treatments and any relevant health situations. We look closely at your skin and take starting photos.
- A personal plan. We choose the formulation, any complementary treatments and the rhythm of sessions, and explain everything clearly before you commit.
- Sessions. You lie back and relax while we work.
- Follow-up. We compare photos over the course and suggest maintenance when the time is right.
How many sessions? It depends on your skin and your goals, and we only propose a number after seeing you. Many people notice changes from the first sessions, but a complete course plus maintenance and good habits gives the most lasting results.
As with any treatment, there are situations where it isn’t recommended — pregnancy is one example. We always review this with you at the consultation before starting.
Your home routine: a simple checklist
Professional treatments work best when daily care supports them. Nothing here is complicated:
- Cleanse gently, morning and evening, without stripping the skin.
- Moisturise with a product suited to your skin type, even if your skin is oily.
- Wear broad-spectrum SPF every day, all year round — not just in summer. Winter sun is still strong.
- Reapply sunscreen when you’re outdoors for long periods, after swimming or sweating.
- Introduce active ingredients slowly and one at a time, so you can see how your skin responds.
- Sleep, hydrate and avoid smoking — unglamorous, but they show on your face.
If you notice a mole changing, a patch that doesn’t heal or anything that worries you, see a doctor or dermatologist; that’s always the first step for anything medical.

Frequently asked questions
Can you rejuvenate your face without needles?
You can improve the quality of your skin without needles: hydration, texture, tone and a sense of firmness. Needle-free treatments don't add volume or relax muscles, which are medical procedures carried out by doctors.
Is Esaforesi painful?
No. It's non-invasive and uses no needles. Most people describe the session as a calm, relaxing moment, and there's no downtime afterwards.
How long does a facial rejuvenation session take?
An Esaforesi session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the protocol. If it's combined with another treatment, we'll explain the timing at your consultation.
When will I notice results?
Many people notice a difference from the first sessions. For longer-lasting results we recommend completing the full course and following it with maintenance and good daily habits.
Where can I get needle-free facial rejuvenation in Palma?
